YLC 2026 VISION
Identity, belonging, and purpose have always been BIG topics for growing teenagers in their life stage and development. Questions like “Who am I?”, “Where do I fit in”, and “Do I matter?” give many opportunities for us as a church family to walk alongside your middle schooler during these ever-changing times. The answers to these BIG questions shape who they are for years to come, and we seek to provide biblically sound answers that can be relevant tools for them as they face various ups and downs in life.
We continue to pray for our Young Leaders Camp to be a space filled with opportunities to encourage, equip, empower, and engage our young people through conversations, team-building activities, and testimonies to remember the hope that we were given by our Lord Jesus Christ. We can’t wait for your teenagers to discover the practical ways that following Jesus helps answer life’s biggest questions!
CORE ASPECTS OF YLC
equipped
Youth Disciple Group (YDG) is small group discussion and reflection time to discover more about Christ and ourselves! During YDG through morning devotion, we explore the week’s lesson and what it means in our lives. By sharing and listening to one another, we remember better what was taught and also build stronger friendships along the way! We want to build a community within our camp and help our campers learn vital social skills. We encourage connection and relationship building in all aspects of our camp.
MENTORED
Our entering 6th-8th grade YLC campers will be mentored by the YLC Staff and CORE leaders, receiving weekly assessments & rotating internships into our various groups such as K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th, Admin Team, & Facility Team. These mentorship opportunities give space for them to learn more about their strengths, weaknesses, and evaluate where they are at and how they can continue to grow and be kept accountable.
challenged
This summer, our Young Leaders Camp will attend three different retreats, locally onsite, in Occidental, and in Sonoma, California. We want to challenge young people to step out of their comfort zones while being in safe spaces. These retreats give opportunity to gain new perspectives while cooking and cleaning together, participate in group challenges, outdoor zip lining challenges, swimming, sports, team-building, and much more. We’ve partnered with these sites for more than 10+ years to build spaces for our youth to be challenged and grow.

statement about relational youth ministry
We believe in relationships and forming connections to each other’s lives. We want to follow Jesus’ example and the way He relates to people. Jesus is fully present when ministering to individuals: the poor, the hungry, children, outcasts, and those yearning to know God intimately. He never left anyone out. We believe it is through real relationships that people are truly connected. No matter how young or old your children are, our counselors and staff will make an effort to listen to them, spend time with them, and understand them. We believe that the formation of these relationships embraces the true impact made on our children and teens.
